«American Dream» ? Well, yes, but surely not to be understood as a patriotic cliché. All the songs featured on this album have one thing in common, I wrote them all on my USA Solo Tour in 2014 which took off in New York and ended in Los Angeles CA. going through New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada. Seven weeks, nineteen shows and approximately 5000 Miles by car. It was a great experience and I learned a lot about so many things including myself. I took the time to record everything that came to my mind and finally came back home with a full album. During this time on tour there was something that, regardless to in which state or city I was, always kept leaking in and added this extra sad, melancholic note to what I was actually feeling or looking at. This huge, proud country, full of hope but also full of broken dreams… The abject poverty right next to the gluttony of the more privileged, not deigning to look at each other. Except from the big cities, the whole country seems to be very, very far from Washington D.C. Don’t get me wrong, I really love this country and its diversity, I feel home. The most beautiful thing is probably its energy, the strong will to do something in life, to give each day the chance to be a new beginning. The landscape, the colors, the shadows. I am thankful to have had this chance and get to meet so many wonderful people, from coast to coast.
